Meet the Doula
Hi there!
I'm Alyssa Crossgrove, your passionate and relatable birth doula, ready to support you however you plan to bring new life into this world!
Not only am I a dedicated birth doula, but I am also a pastors wife, mom of 4, homeschooler, wanna-be homesteader, and I've been pregnant and/or breastfeeding for the past 7 years.
As a mother of four, I understand the need for support, community, and education. Motherhood is such a journey, from growing life, to nurturing littles, to raising kind children, none of it's easy! That's why I find so much joy in coming alongside women during such a formative time in their lives.
My Passions
Birth has been a passion of mine for a long time. After experiencing firsthand the impact that being educated and having a strong birth team can have on your entire experience, I decided I wanted to help more women feel empowered from their birth! In 2018 I got certified through International Doula Institute, and a few years later I decided to get certified as a Breastfeeding Counselor as well.
My husband and I moved to the Lake for ministry in May of 2024. He works full time as a Worship Pastor, and I stay home with our four kids. We are passionate about raising a family and building community.
Prior to the Lake I did Doula work in Indianapolis for 4 years. The "birth culture" in the city was in many ways, thriving, and I was blessed to get to support so many variations of birth: home births, hospital births, birth center births. The city had an abundance of resources for mothers and families, not to mention a doula around every corner.
I know the lake is different. There are fewer options for the birthing mother, and her resources are slim. I am passionate about shifting the culture, raising awareness, and finding mothers the support they deserve, here at the lake.
My goal at every birth is to make sure that families feel confident, in control, and taken care of through their birth and postpartum period. While healthy babies are very important, so is a mamas heart, and I try my best to take care of it in the process.
